F.A.Q.'s
Why are parents required to check in their children?
We believe all kids are valuable to God, to their parents and to us. A way to affirm that value is by the safety that we provide for your children. We ask parents to register their children (Babies-4th Graders) when they first arrive on Sunday mornings. Both parent and child will receive an identical numbered name tag for their safety. Parents are then expected to present the correct numbered tags at the end of the service in order to pick up their child.
Who leads Children's Ministries at Journey?
Journey's Route 252 kid's ministries are overseen by our Director of Children's & Family Ministries, Jennifer Courtland. Jennifer works besides many wonderful volunteer leaders and teachers that have a heart to love and serve children. If you want to know more about our CM Director, you can read Jennifer's biography.
Are your volunteers screened and safe?
ABSOLUTELY! All 252 volunteers must go through our screening process which includes a formal application, a background check, and reference checks.
What is your Well-Child Policy?
Because we value all children and want to provide a safe environment for everyone, we would encourage you to not bring your child to class if they are sick or have been sick within the past 24 hours.
What about Baby Dedications?
Our baby dedications really are more about the parents than they are about the kids. Typically a baby dedication is where the parent(s) of a child make a commitment to raise their child in a manner and in an environment where that child can know Christ personally. Our baby dedications are a part of our weekend service and typically take place on Mother's Day and during the Christmas season. If you'd like more information about child dedications, please look at the packet we provide.

Both Adults and Teens interested in being a part of this great ministry please contact our Children's & Family Ministries Director, Jennifer Courtland at jennifer.courtland@journeymin.org or just fill out a Volunteer Interest Form at church and return it to the CM Table. Jennifer will follow up with you regarding next steps to plugging in.
