"Those teens need to get off their phones."
"Okay boomer."
"They don't understand my generation."
"They will never understand me."
Those are a few things that we hear too often, all across the board weather you were born in 1943, or 2003. One of the biggest points of stress in the world today is generational differences. It is something that has also hit our churches. A simple visit to a church on a Sunday Morning will show you whether a church is more "traditional (which many older generations appreciate) or contemporary (which more of the younger generations prefer.) There are many theological differences we have too across generations and especially in the way we worship God. But what if it wasn't about traditional or contemporary,? What if it wasn't about our differences?
There is common ground. In Ephesians 4 we are called to be "one body and one Spirit." In 1 Corinthians 12 it says "we are one body with many parts."
We are called to be one, but too often we are two or five or hundreds. In order to work together to move the Church and put faith forward, we have to be one.
